I’m now 1 day away from making my publishing decision. The support has been awesome.

More and more people continue to make videos – and I will always honor a video request to read the first chapter free, even after the book has come out.

The Telegraph integrates SEO boosting online readership at SES London 2010

Greg Jarboe, SEO-PR, interviews Julian Sambles, The Telegraph, who spoke on the SES London 2010 panel, No More Yesterdays News, Real-Time SEO. Julian talks about the importance of training editors and journalists to help them understand and integrate SEO into their product. Julian says the Telegraph is now prioritizing its copy focusing on online readership first and print readership second. The Telegraph now features influential blogs as part of its online presence. As a result of incorporating SEO into its product, the Telegraph has seen its share of the online audience shoot upwards, in addition to seeing its Web traffic increase from outside of the UK. Using search engines in an intelligent way, says Julian, has enabled the Telegraph to convert new readers to its website.

Part 2–Lulu, Amazon, and Self-Publishing Hell

This is a second part to the video I posted yesterday, “Bitter Experiences with Lulu and Amazon.” I discuss the failure of Lulu.Com to delineate for its authors its powers and responsibilities in regard to its global distribution package with Amazon.com. I also discuss Amazon’s absolute impunity when it comes to its treatment of YOUR intellectual property, YOUR electronic files. This is not the United States of America the way the Founding Fathers conceived of it–not when it comes to Earth’s Biggest Bookstore. For self-produced artists, Amazon is the Earth’s Biggest Colosseum, and you are a gladiator with both hands tied behind your back.

I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!

RubyRedRiter’s own Sharon Denise Talbot  has published her first children’s book “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!” Follow the link to order your copy today:  https://www.createspace.com/3433038

Hey y’all!  My first children’s book is now available.  WHOOP!  WHOOP! This is so exciting!  This first book is a true labor of love dedicated to my beautiful granddaughters. It is also extra special because the illustrations were done by my daughter, Laura Ashley Talbot.  “I Love You Bigger than The Sky!” is not only a favorite saying that my little hunny bunnies and I share, but the book is full of our favorite things that pale in comparison to how “BIG” we love each other! I know you can relate.

I love being a parent but for me being a grand- parent is a whole new kind of joy.  Who knew?!  It has inspired me in so many ways.   Whether you are a grand-parent, parent or just have a little someone who you love really “BIG” tell them with this super cute book.  It is a tuck-in time essential!
Follow the link below to order your first edition copy of “I Love You Bigger Than The Sky!”  Check back for dates and locations of forthcoming book signings. Bring your copy!

Look for more of my upcoming children’s books to be available shortly.  Thanks so much for your support

Part 1–Bitter Experiences with Lulu and Amazon

I posted this video because: 1) Print on Demand, unknown authors are having their creative files taken from them without compensation, and the government doesn’t care; 2) I have lost control of creative work because I did business with Lulu Press and want to warn about the real nightmare of going the P.O.D. route; and 3) I WANT MY FILES BACK. I have to give my files away for free now, in order to compete with the Goliath of the publishing industry (I have boycotted Amazon since early 2008). After all the money I paid to see my manuscripts in print, now I give them away for free while Bob Young made a nice penny on me (mysite.verizon.net/hpalencar).

Celebrities get thieves prosecuted for what Lulu and Amazon have done to me and others. No attorney general from a pertinent state will call what these intellectual property merchants have done by its correct name: theft, not a tort or civil wrong. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act wasn’t written to protect only celebrities. Or maybe it was…

Yahoo announces beta release of its new Yahoo Content Exchange at SES San Francisco

Greg Jarboe, Search Engine Watch, interviews Wendi Sturgis, Yahoo, about the beta release of their new Yahoo Content Exchange. Premium publishers have the ability, as well as Yahoo, to put content into the exchange to get distribution for audience and drive engagement for their content. Windy then talks about Yahoo’s investment in its original content and its recent acquisition of Associated Content, which will be the cornerstone for the new Yahoo Content Exchange platform. Windy then talks about the different kind of content that Yahoo is creating for its customers, including Yahoo’s Trending Now module, getting feeds for user generated content from Yahoo Answers, Yahoo Local and other social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
