How to Create Online Income – Part 1

More and more people are looking to the Internet to make money. And sadly, 80% of them will fail miserably and never make a dime. Only 1% to 2% of them will succeed and create decent online income. The rest will make a few dollars here and there, but nothing substantial.

And what is the reason for this? It is not because creating online income is difficult. It is actually very easy, once you know how. There are thousands of ways to make money online. In this article, I will show you how to easily create online income by writing articles. In future articles, I will discuss how to create online income using other techniques.

Although most everyone can speak, not everyone considers themselves to be a great writer. But you don’t have to be a great writer to create online income writing. If there is one word of advice I can give you, it’s this; write it like you say it. Many people try to write long reports using big words thinking that it will impress others. Nahhh! Readers aren’t impressed that easily.

Most people read articles and information for one reason; they want to learn something. Readers are much more impressed by an article that teaches them exactly what they wanted, as opposed to an article full of big words that says nothing. So, KISS (‘Keep It Simple, Stupid)!

So, how can you create online income by writing? You can begin by writing articles. If you are not sure of the format, you can get tons of article writing information from the link to my website below. There are 2 ways to create online income writing articles. The easiest way is to write articles for others.

Webmasters and bloggers are always looking for fresh articles to add to their sites. And, fortunately for you, they are willing to pay for it. If you are just beginning to write articles to create online income, you might only be able to get $2.00 to $3.00 per 500 word article. However, even at that low rate, you can easily write 10 articles in a single day and earn $20 to $30 dollars for a few hours work.

To find anxious article buyers, go to the large forums like the Warrior Forum and Digital Point Forum. After registering, look for threads related to article writing. There are people looking to buy articles at these forums almost everyday. Respond to these posts and ask them to send you a pm (private message) for details on your article writing service. Once you strike a deal, start writing and begin to create online income! It’s that easy.

Blogging: Writing and Publishing Your First Blog Entry

The content of your blog is an important factor in gaining traffic and acquiring a target audience. Publishing your first article or item is a great milestone in your blogging career. Fortunately, there are several basic guidelines, which can make your content more effective to your audience, adored by the search engines and respected by the world of blogging.

Publishing an Effective Content

Before you begin to write anything on your blog, you should know who your target audience is and what they want. If you see these factors as irrelevant for your blog because your blog is not business oriented in any way, you must remember that if you want readers then these factors are really relevant.

Always remember that where there are readers there is something interesting to read. The only reason why people read is because they want something. If you really want to achieve some kind of massive readership, you must strive to make your content interesting and actually what readers want.

First of all, keep in mind that communication is the key. More so, your communication must be authentic. The time when you publish your content is also the time when you let your true self surface. Blogs are personal in nature and communication is the key to being personal. The fact that each blog is unique because each writer is unique is enough for you to not to worry about future similarities with other blog entries. Keep in mind that whatever topic you are blogging about you must incorporate your personality with your writing.

In order to create a loyal target audience, it is important for the visitors to trust you and relate to you. It does not necessarily entail that they know about your personal details but you must connect with your audience in an authentic manner.

After establishing your communication with your audience, the content must also be credible. The blog must have authenticity even though credibility takes a lot of time to build.

The moment you begin publishing your content, which is of high value and useful to the readers, you also start establishing your authority. There will come a time when your readers ask you for advice or seek for your opinion; this is the time when you have achieved some kind of credibility and you must use this to build your reputation as a blogger.

The Blogger’s Block

Blogging is writing but uses a different medium. There are several methods to fight blogger’s block. Always remember that your blog software exists to serve you and not to frighten you. You do not have to try blogging carrying the idea that you have prolific writing skills, or a journalism degree. The fact is that you have something to say and you want others to hear it. However, if you are feeling stuck on an idea, there are several suggestions that you can apply when creating the content for your blog.

Firstly, you can try visiting other blogs. Visit those blogs that interest you and pick ideas and topics from those blogs that might be worth blogging about but keep in mind the relevance of the topic and your readership. You can also syndicate your news updates. You can do this by subscribing to news services online because they allow you to save time on searching using keywords. This is most useful for bloggers.

Looking for a news story about a man who started publishing math lectures online.?

I recently saw a story about a former software engineer who quit his job and started publishing his own math oriented lectures online. I believe his name was indian, but I’m not positive.

He turned his closet into his own lecture hall where he records his lectures and publishes them online for free.

Does anyone know his website or where I can find this news story?

I saw the same news story.

His name is Salman Khan, and his website is at http://www.khanacademy.org .

Beyond Customary Ebook Publishing

Single purpose ebooks are a thing of the past, and here is why.

What’s happened to the venerable ebook?  Has it taken it’s place among other antiquated technologies of the Internet like modems and CRT monitors?  Is it a long forgotten technology?

The fact remains that writing an ebook and self publishing it on the Internet has become easier and easier. There are literally thousands of PLR (Private Label Rights) ebooks for the taking so that you don’t even have to be concerned about actually writing an ebook. Ebook software is easily accessible and a lot less expensive, and if you don’t like to write or don’t feel that you have the talent (Just about anyone can write an eBook) you can have a freelance writer do it for you, if you can afford to job it out.

That being said, why even take the time and trouble to write and publish an ebook?  There is most definitely a place for single purpose eBooks on the market today. I would categorize them as highly defined and technical information based ebooks. That is they discuss in great detail how to manage a specific task or function. A good example would be how to utilize RSS feeds on your website, and how they can become a silent marketing tool for your products or services.

Segmented marketing strategies such as technically based ebooks present a different challenge to the Internet Marketer as they require specific knowledge of a given subject to write.  So how can the average person make money with an ebook?

A good example would be to create a free give-away ebook that discusses the merits of other products that you may be selling. This is done quite often and has increased sales and conversion rates for products and services. Within the ebook you discuss the rational for the use of your product or service and create active links to your sales page.

Another method of non-traditional ebook publishing is the “branded” or viral ebook. This is when you create a similar ebook to the above example but allow your affiliates to brand it as their own ebook and distribute it to their customers. The ebook can be branded so that the sales links can be personalized for each affiliate.

Viral ebooks have been around for sometime and the software to create them is well within reach of the average Internet marketer. For example the Adobe PDF format is the worldwide standard for creating an ebook. There is no question that Adobe Acrobat® is the premiere tool for creating pdf ebooks, however there are alternatives that are less expensive that will create and convert to the pdf format. Viral PDF ebooks are very attractive because they provide an unusual way to distribute an information or software product, that is easy and inexpensive to produce.

The process is simple. Let’s say that you have a great widget making software program. You decide to write an ebook that explains all of the benefits of widgets and how they will change the world as we know it. Instead of selling this ebook you give it away with free software that creates proprietary links for anyone who joins your affiliate program. (A simple membership to either PayDotCom or Clickbank starts your first affiliate program for very little work or investment on your part) This means that your affiliates can now offer an ebook that is branded with their name and their affiliate links to anyone that they choose to send it to. This means that whenever someone purchases through those links you get a sale and the affiliate gets a commission. A win-win situation.

With the above suggestions you can easily see how an ebook still furnishes you with a marketing tool to promote your business, product or resource.

Freelance Writing Online: Some Hard and Fast Facts

If there is one maxim that has continued to remain true about the Internet it is that “Content is King”. The fact that website owners need fresh and relevant content to keep browsers coming back to their website means that there is a secondary market for content creation.

This of course has created a wonderful opportunity for freelance writers who can spend their time creating content for others and be paid for it. But before you throw in your day jobs, register your profile with Elance or Guru and start banging away on your laptop, let’s look at some of the truisms of the market so that you can enter the opportunity with open eyes.

Firstly, let’s deal with the question of how much money you can make. Will you make a million dollars? No. Only very high profile offline authors make this sort of money. Is it possible to make $80- $100k per year. The answer is yes but like anything it will require some hard work and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, to be truly successful you will need to spend nearly as much time marketing yourself as you will creating content. To command this type of income you will also most likely need to augment your writing efforts with some affiliate marketing. This isn’t difficult: you still create content but you will also make sure that you embed some of your own affiliate links in the content that you create.

It also depends on your agenda. If you’re looking to make a full time income then those figures are within your reach. If however, you’re a student for instance and therefore do not have as much time at your disposal, then a $20k per annum secondary income at the upper end would be the more likely scenario.

Do you have to be a good writer to succeed online? No. In fact being a good writer may actually be a hindrance: simply for the fact that your work may not be appreciated and command the price that you feel it’s worth. The nature of the market that you will be dealing with is one that is after fast and relatively cheap content. They’re not after high quality writing so don’t try and be Shakespeare. All you really need is a decent grasp of spelling and punctuation and be able to write in a conversational tone. Easy? You bet.

Do you need to have a subject specialty? Once again the answer is no and if you do specialise then you may be severely denting your income prospects. The secret here is to not put all your eggs in one basket. You want to have multiple sources of income: this means not only a multiplicity of subjects but also a multiplicity off avenues to get your writing out there. Bidding at auction sites such as Guru.com and Elance.com is certainly one way of getting the dollars in but it does not preclude creating monetised blogs or writing and submitting articles with embedded links.

It helps when writing online for a living to think outside the box. You can certainly make a steady income from just writing alone but by tweaking and monetising your approach with affiliate marketing you can put yourself in a position to really explode your income.

Hot Tips For Marketing Books For Self Publishers

With careful planning you can market, promote, and get (free) publicity (publicity is always free) on a limited budget; you can take the cheap and easy way. Whether you’ve just published a book or have a book that isn’t selling, now is the time to get to it; start marketing today! This article will provide you with easy, free, and cheap book marketing, promotion and publicity tips to get you headed in the right direction fast.

Send out the same press release to the editor of your local daily newspaper every week until you are called for an interview or are written up. Your book press release should not be written as you would a sales letter or flier, it should be written for the editor and tell about your book in a factual way, no opinion or glowing remarks. Make sure your press release spells out the ‘who, what, where, when, and why.’

Make sure you have at least one good press release, written in AP style that you can send out for the lifetime of your book. Mail a press release to all the trade journals in your field over and over again; you can use the same release. When picked up by wire services, a press release can easily end up generating hundreds of mentions for your book.

Press releases can generate thousands of dollars in sales when picked up by national trade or print media. Don’t underestimate the value of a good press release for making book sales.

Find a non-exclusive distributor with a good reputation to carry your book for the book store trade, as well as for other retailers. Contact any companies, corporations or organizations that might use your book for promotions; offer significant discounts for volume orders or for thousands of copies offer a specified amount above book production costs. Place free ads periodically for your book’s website on Craigslist in different categories to drive even more traffic to your website.

Contact non-bookstore booksellers and offer to leave books on consignment. Be your own publicist and send a press release along with a review copy of your book to publications in your book’s genre and to book review magazines. Offer to trade writing a monthly column in a trade publication in your books’ genre, in trade for display ads on the same page.

Your sales letter or flier should include an eye-grabbing headline, the benefits to the buyer, the book features, book sales information and testimonials. Remember to make sure your book is listed in Books-in-Print; don’t assume it’s already listed. Every day it’s important to focus on a variety of marketing approaches.

Make sure not to overlook the Internet; get yourself interviewed or profiled for sites both about writing, publishing and about the topics covered in your book. Market your book to your number one market first, and then go after the secondary markets. Try giving away one of your books in a raffle at a local function to get more book recognition.

Get as many testimonials about your book, as possible, from experts in the field relating to your title, not customers; use on your fliers and back of books. I’ve seen publishers lose a lot of money paying for expensive display ads, so beware if you do this; I don’t advise it in the beginning — get your feet wet first so you know what you’re doing.

Make sure to promote and market your book each and every day, both online and offline. Create an online contest and list it in online contest directories to drive traffic to your website.

Use your book promotion and book marketing dollars wisely; go after the free and cheap resources daily. Make sure to test, test, and test some more before you lay out large sums of money. The success of any book marketing effort depends on a good book and just plain hard work; its been done many times before and you can do it too.

How realistic is it to make money by writing articles or blogging on the internet from home?

It seems like the internet is where it’s at. I studied Computer Information and Film/Video at school, but I’m not too shabby with a keyboard when it comes to writing interesting stuff. Does anyone know of anyone (aside from Drudge and Arianna Huffington) who has been able to make a few bucks by blogging on a site from home?

I have made money blogging. I made some money with Adsense when my site was smaller, but I stopped using them because I only made $100 a month. Now I offer direct ad sales on my blog, and I sell monthly text links on some blogs for $10 per PageRank. Example: PR4 blog earns $40 per month per text link.
