Writing your Online Dating Profile

So, you have joined an online dating service and now you must write a profile. But where should you start? Writing probably isn’t something you think you do that well. Don’t worry, even so, you can write a great profile.

The most important thing is to be absolutely honest about yourself. Never, ever lie. Many men and women lie about their age, height, weight, their marital status, employment, other things in their profiles. In fact, according to a recent study, about 52% of men, and 39% of women lie about their height. Slightly more women lie about their weight (64%), than men (60%). When it comes to age, 24% of the men are untruthful, compared with 13% of the women.

Lying is a huge mistake. If you find a person who you are really interested in, sooner or later, he or she will find out that you lied. And there goes any possibility of the relationship progressing. There is someone out there who will love you – the real you. So, be honest.

Don’t forget to emphasize the things that make you unique. Also, describe the things that are important in your life. Examine your previous relationships and list the things that you liked and the things you did not like.

Improve your online profile by hiring a professional photographer for your online photo. This is essential because the photograph is the first thing people see. The second thing is that they read what you have written about yourself. Your favorite online dating site might be able to provide you with a list of photographers in your area that specialize in online dating site photographs.

You have so many choices online when it comes to dating. Before the Internet, the choice of friends and lifetime partners was limited to those we came in contact with through work or college. Today, you can go through hundreds of profiles to find the right person for you. Enjoy.

Pain In Heel Of Foot And Self Treatment

Pain in heel of foot self treatment can be done at home if you are suffering from plantar fasciitis. Common causes of pain in heel of foot conditions are inflammation and/or tightness in the plantar fascia, which is the tissue on the bottom of the foot.

Plantar fasciitis pain is often felt at the front part of the heel on the bottom of the foot. This heel pain spreads along the bottom of the foot towards the toes. If the ligaments of the foot bottom have tightened up overnight due to inflammation, putting your weight on your foot to walk when getting out of bed in the morning becomes painful. The tight foot area is stretched as you put your weight on your foot, which causes a ‘hot’ kind of pain that runs along the heel toward the toes.

Besides having pain when getting out of bed in the mornings, you may find that the pain in heel of foot condition is only a problem after being stationary for a while, or late in the day or while doing certain kinds of activities.

Here are pain in heel of foot treatments that help reduce inflammation of the plantar fascia:

? Use Ice Massage – fill a sports water bottle with water, freeze it and place it on the floor. Roll your foot over it for 20 minutes two times a day. Doing this will both help decrease the inflammation causing the pain in heel of foot condition while stretching out the arch.

? Use a Contrast Bath – to help decrease chronic inflammation, try contrasting treatment between ice and heat. Pay attention to how the pain in heel of foot condition feels when alternating between ice and heat since some people find they do better with ice while others have better results with heat.

? Take Anti-inflammatory Medications – medications such as ibuprofen will help decrease inflammation that occurs in the fascia. However, don’t simply mask the pain with a medication. If you reduce the pain with the anti-inflammatory medication but keep on participating in activities which cause tearing and inflammation of the plantar fascia, you are not healing and will likely not improve. Continue resting, icing and stretching while you take the medications.

? Reduce or Avoid Activities that Aggravate the Condition – climbing stairs, walking or running on hills, squatting, lifting heavy items and walking on uneven terrain all can make the pain in heel of foot condition worse. Limit the number of times you go up and down stairs and try to avoid hills and uneven terrain. If you have to squat down, keep the inflammed foot flat on the ground and in front of the other. Do not lift heavy items.

Besides reducing pain in heel of foot inflammation, stretching exercises can be effective in helping treat heel pain. Learn as much as you can about self treatments for pain in heel of foot conditions. Plantar fasciitis pain can be just annoying or it can become so serious that you cannot walk. Understanding heel pain causes can help you know how to find relief. Foot surgery should always be considered the very last resort.

Tell Me More About, Blogging and Blogs

If you are new to the Internet and have spent some time here, you must have heard about “Blogging” and “Blogs”. But what exactly is a blog? How does it work? And how you can start one? Let me tell you one by one : So what is a Blog? In simplest language, a blog is a daily journal of your thoughts maintained you (a Blogger) on the web. When posting to a blog you will notice that it is arranged in chronological order – with the most recent additions on top. As you keep postings more and more posts, the older posts will enter into an Archive folder so that visitors can view your past posts easily. You can permit your readers to add their own comments/feedback on any of your Blog post. You can add audio to your blog known as Podcast, which readers can listen to. In fact it’s a great way remain in touch with your clients. How one can start a Blog? It’s extremely easy.

There are numerous options available. If you want to have an experience of Blogging without spending some cash, you can opt for the blogging service from Blogger.com or from WordPress.com. These two websites are world’s most popular free blogs providers and have some great tools for starting a blog. On Blogger.com you also have the option to earn money from your free blog through Google Adsense program. Basically you only need to register at these blogging service for a free account, fill some information and lo your blog is live! Starting a Blog is just like signing for a new email account! However, I strongly advise you that after getting sufficient experience of running a blog on these free blogging platform, you should switch to a professional blog by purchasing own domain name and host. This can be easily done by using the WordPress Blogging tool (wordpress.org) which is one of the most powerful and free blogging software on earth. Working on wordpress is as simple as a breeze. There are zillions of wordpress tutorials for newbie on internet.

Further, there are many web hosting companies which offered wordpress enabled site hosting where installing wordpress is just a matter of point and click. What a blog can do for me? Well, a blog can changed your life in reality. If your blog become successful, you will be freed from all your financial worries and problems. For many people, their blog has become a virtual moneymaking machine. If you have any doubts over power of a blog ask Steve Pavlina, the guy who is earning $1000 a day (probably more) from his personal Blog. What are other benefits of having a blog? There are many and some of them are: 1. A blog allows you to get to know your customers and their needs, as well as, allowing your customers to know the blogger – that is you 2. A blog is a strong communication tool to keep in touch with your customers. 3. A blog (if updated regularly) can provide daily, quality content – which the Search engines love and thus, increase your traffic. 4. A blog can be used to advertise your links. You can write review of an affiliate product in your blog post thus increasing the chance of a sale. 5. A blog can be used to bring social change as is doing by some bloggers from China, Myanmar and Iran despite stiff resistance from their Governments. 6. A blog can be used to answer inquiries that people may have about your product.

Well , the list is not exhaustive and I have not mentioned all the benefits of a blog as it’s an introductory article on blogging. In my opinion, there is only one weak point of starting a blog – you’ll have to maintain/update it regularly 🙂 In fact a Blog is just like the fish shark. It’ll die if it stops. A blog needs constant feeding of your thought matter to exist. The blog should be maintained on a regular basis or it’ll lose its effectiveness. Now enough of my ranting on blogging. Get up and go blogging. My best wishes for your blog.

Freelance Writing Online: Some Hard and Fast Facts

If there is one maxim that has continued to remain true about the Internet it is that “Content is King”. The fact that website owners need fresh and relevant content to keep browsers coming back to their website means that there is a secondary market for content creation.

This of course has created a wonderful opportunity for freelance writers who can spend their time creating content for others and be paid for it. But before you throw in your day jobs, register your profile with Elance or Guru and start banging away on your laptop, let’s look at some of the truisms of the market so that you can enter the opportunity with open eyes.

Firstly, let’s deal with the question of how much money you can make. Will you make a million dollars? No. Only very high profile offline authors make this sort of money. Is it possible to make $80- $100k per year. The answer is yes but like anything it will require some hard work and a dash of entrepreneurial spirit. In fact, to be truly successful you will need to spend nearly as much time marketing yourself as you will creating content. To command this type of income you will also most likely need to augment your writing efforts with some affiliate marketing. This isn’t difficult: you still create content but you will also make sure that you embed some of your own affiliate links in the content that you create.

It also depends on your agenda. If you’re looking to make a full time income then those figures are within your reach. If however, you’re a student for instance and therefore do not have as much time at your disposal, then a $20k per annum secondary income at the upper end would be the more likely scenario.

Do you have to be a good writer to succeed online? No. In fact being a good writer may actually be a hindrance: simply for the fact that your work may not be appreciated and command the price that you feel it’s worth. The nature of the market that you will be dealing with is one that is after fast and relatively cheap content. They’re not after high quality writing so don’t try and be Shakespeare. All you really need is a decent grasp of spelling and punctuation and be able to write in a conversational tone. Easy? You bet.

Do you need to have a subject specialty? Once again the answer is no and if you do specialise then you may be severely denting your income prospects. The secret here is to not put all your eggs in one basket. You want to have multiple sources of income: this means not only a multiplicity of subjects but also a multiplicity off avenues to get your writing out there. Bidding at auction sites such as Guru.com and Elance.com is certainly one way of getting the dollars in but it does not preclude creating monetised blogs or writing and submitting articles with embedded links.

It helps when writing online for a living to think outside the box. You can certainly make a steady income from just writing alone but by tweaking and monetising your approach with affiliate marketing you can put yourself in a position to really explode your income.

Has anyone had success with self-publishing company Xlibris?

I was considering self-publishing with Xlibris. They contacted me numerous times for over a year now. I’ve told them I may be interested in the future, so they call from time to time. I’m wondering if there are writers that have had a good experience with the company.

If a publisher is that desperate to find a client, you can bet they are not a traditional publisher.

Real publishers do not have to beg for manuscripts since agents provide them with enough good ones to choose from.

Vanity presses make their money selling printing services to naive authors (not by selling books to readers). It annoys writing groups to find out a self publisher has copied their member list specifically to spam them with promises and half-thruths.

Question about book publishing and copyright if several people write an article for book?

I’m wondering how to publish a book that’s similar to the Chicken Soup for the Soul series (it’s about a completely different topic though). What contract are the contributing writers given? If I have them sign a contract that I own the rights to their article, can I then publish their article in my book?

Also, I would like to publish their names as well. What if someone doesn’t want their name published? How to specify this in a contract?

go to law school or have a lawyer do it for you. It is impossible not to create a billion loopholes without a lawyer.

How do I get a ISBN for a book that is not a self publishing ISBN.?

I want to market my own novel. I do not want to self publish at least not in the normal sense. I want a regular ISBN number like on most books that are published. How do I get it? How do I do it?

You may obtain an ISBN through R.R. Bowker at this link: http://www.isbn.org/standards/home/index.asp. There is not a real differentiation between a self-published ISBN and any other type. They are simply unique identifiers used to distinguish one title from another, like a social security number, as books, like people, can have similar or the same names. Each publishing house has their own prefixes (Dorrance Publishing for example uses both 0-8059- and 1-4349-), and unless you have your book produced though an existing publisher with its own ISBN numbers, you will more than likely need to obtain one on your own. In any case, please be assured that one ISBN number obtained through R. R. Bowker is as legitimate as any other.
