What is a good Christian book publishing company?

I plan to be a writer for my career, and I am in the process of writing a book that I would like to have published eventually, so I was wondering, does anyone know of any good Christian book publishing companies? The best I know of would be Thomas Nelson and any associated publishers. Does anyone know of any better ones or have any suggestions? Thanks.
Note: I don’t want any type of self-publisher. I want publishers that are good at marketing books and will make good book covers to attract consumers.

Publishing books online for free?

How can I publish a book online for free, and then the website takes a cut from the profits or whatever?

You can put your book on Scribd.com or 4shared.com, but don’t expect to ever make money on the book.

And if you do, real publishers are not likely to put you under contract to publish the book.

But you might make some fans. Just not any money.

Looking for an online writing community?

I am an novice writer. I have writen poetry and short stories but now have begun a full length novel. Looking for an online community (hopefully free) where I could share my thoughts and writing and discuss. Thank you.

writing.com

it’s free for the first three months, and not much after that. You rate and comment on other pieces and sometimes you can earn gift points. You use the gift points you’ve earn to have a better chance of having people rate your pieces.

Online Publishing (Statistics Question)?

Publishing scientific papers online is fast, and the papers can be long. Publishing in a paper journal means that the paper will live forever in libraries. The British Medical Journal combines the two: it prints short and readable versions, with longer versions available online. Is this OK with authors? The journal asked a random sample of 104 of its recent authors several questions. One question was "Should the journal continue using this system?" In the sample, 72 said, "Yes." What proportion of all authors would say "Yes" if asked? (Estimate with 95% confidence.) Do the data give good evidence that more than two-thirds (67%) of authors support continuing this system? Answer both questions with appropriate inference methods.

large sample confidence intervals are used to find a region in which we are 100 (1-α)% confident the true value of the parameter is in the interval.

For large sample confidence intervals for the proportion in this situation you have:

pHat ± z * sqrt( (pHat * (1-pHat)) / n)

where pHat is the sample proportion
z is the zscore for having α% of the data in the tails, i.e., P( |Z| > z) = α
n is the sample size

in this case we have zscore of 1.96 because:

P( -1.96 < Z < 1.96 ) = 0.05

meaning 95% of the data is in the center and symmetric about the mean.

phat = 72/104

the CI is:

pHat ± z * sqrt( (pHat * (1-pHat)) / n)

72/104 ± 1.96 * sqrt(72/102 * (1 – 72/104) / 104)

= ( 0.6027374 , 0.7818780 )

because the value of 2/3 is contained in this interval it is plausible that the true mean is 2/3.

How to Write Great Blogging Content

Blogging has often been associated as more of a hobby than a serious moneymaking tool. However, in reality, blogging content offers the perfect tool for progressing one’s Internet marketing ventures. You just need to know how to create the right type of blogging content. Once you learn that skill, you could make a lot of money from Internet marketing, whether it’s promoting affiliate products or posting ads for other companies.

With that being said, how can a person turn blogging content into something that propels their Internet marketing efforts? First, they need to think about keyword-optimization. To achieve this, your blogging content must contain popular Internet keywords… terms that contain a lot of searches yet minimal competition.

To find these terms, your best bet is to use a keyword analyzer… one of the most powerful tools in the Internet marketing world. All you have to do is enter in a general term, (like you would Google or any other search engine). From there, the keyword analyzer would return even more specific phrases. They will also include how many searches the phrase is receiving each month.

Some keyword analyzers take things a step further. An example is Micro Niche Finder, which includes the “Strength of Competition” field. This field lets you know if the program believes a particular keyword is worth your effort. If the field has a green circle, the keyword is very profitable. If the field has a yellow circle, its profitability is so-so. A red circle indicates that the keyword has too much competition to really make Internet marketing worthwhile.

Of course, regardless of which keyword you choose, the process of keyword optimization is the same. As you are writing your blogging content, you will want to include the term 2 to 5 percent of the time. To put things into perspective, if your blogging content is 500 words, you will want to include your chosen keyword at least 10 times. The maximum number would be 25 times, as anything more than that could get your blog flagged for spam. When this happens, even if your blogging content is good, you lose your Internet marketing advantage since most search engines will de-index you.

On the other hand, you don’t want to go under 10 if you can help it. If you do, it won’t always result in an Internet marketing failure, especially since some keywords have no websites associated with them. But if a website has at least 100 or so competitors, (when the term is in quotes), you will want to try to include the keyword at least 2 percent of the time throughout your blogging content. Otherwise, the search engine bots may not be able to notice your blogging content, simply because it doesn’t contain enough keywords.

Now that you know the importance of keyword optimization, you might be wondering how you can create good blogging content in the first place. How can you balance good blogging content with the basic principles behind Internet marketing? Well, if you can’t afford to hire a ghostwriter to write the content for you, there’s always the option of using existing articles as a source of research. Print out an article that relates to whatever keyword you’re promoting and highlight the important points. Create a new spin on these points when writing your blogging content, making sure you don’t plagiarize existing ideas. When you’re finished, you’ll have engaging blogging content that will work well with your Internet marketing pursuits.

Is it a good/bad idea to put your writing online if you plan on publishing it someday when it’s finished?

if it’s a good idea where would you recommend posting it?

I would never (and will never) share my ideas or writing in any shape or form onliine. Why?–Someone could easily take credit for what does not belong to them.

I call this protecting my writing. You should probably do the same for yours. There is no telling who might notice your writing one day and make a profit off of it, etc. I would be extremely careful.

Also, if it’s already free online, why would the publishing companies spend any money publishing it? This is pretty much repeating what others have said, but it’s true.
