What does Ashford University pay online writing instructors?

What does Ashford University pay online writing instructors? I want to know what you can reasonably take home as an online adjunct English/writing instructor working for Ashford University.

There are a lot of resources on the internet. Just use search engines

Where to publish books online and how to decide which publishers is good and publish my books quickly?

I wanted to know what are the pros and cons of publishing online and what are all the top publishers in US. What are the rules and regulations for publishing. Whether I have to give my writing to them for verification or I have to take care of my writings and how to give the writing materials for different publishers

That is a lot of information you are asking for, and your grammar is not very good so I am unclear on several of the questions. Hopefully you have had your book thoroughly edited before begining the publication process because it is not easy.

I can’t answer many of the questions specifically because each publisher has it’s own set of guidelines and rules for how it does business. You will need to research publishers who deal with books similar to what you have written, and find out what their submission guidelines are.

There are two types of publishing, traditional and self-publishing. If you choose to go with self-pubbing, I would recommend http://www.lulu.com as a great site. They don’t pretend to be anything they are not, and have excellent service. All the decisions will be in your hands. However, going with a company like this is a difficult road and it is not considered a publishing credential if you look to go traditional down the road. Here is some other information about the downside of self-publishers (also known as vanity presses):
http://www.sfwa.org/beware/vanitypublishers.html

As far as novels go, different publishers specialize in different things, and fiction is a broad world. You have to try and sell your material to companies that produce similar works (ie, don’t try and sell a fantasy novel to a romance publisher). So do your homework. Take a look at the most recent "Writer’s Market"… or even better, try the "Guide to Literary Agents".

I absolutely suggest getting an agent instead of approaching publishers directly. I’m assuming you are not a contract attorney, so you will need someone to look over any offers and to guide you through the publishing world.

No publisher or agent should charge you any money up front! That is the sign of a scam! They make money by selling your book. Agents work on a commission (generally 15% of the amount of money the publishers pay you).

Make sure that you follow their exact submission specifications. You can’t send them your book, but you should be sending them a query letter (Nicholas Sparks has a good example on his website).

Here are some websites that can help. Read them thoroughly and research, research, research! Pay special attention to Miss Snark, because her archives can answer any question you ever have about publishing:

http://www.agentquery.com/

And be warned of the people on this list:

Good luck!

Good Morning NOLA!  Can say Beautiful?  What an awesome day!  Clear today with plenty of sunshine.  Our high for today is in the upper sixties, almost reaching that seventies mark.  No rain to be seen.  Mr. Sunshine has dried that dampness right out of the air. I just can’t get enough of this.  Iam sitting out on the balcony listening to the fountain, not rain drops on the courtyard. Clear and cooler tonight which is a good thing since I will be on the set of Contraband this evening.  Good riddance rain!  It’s a great day to be out and about and tomorrow is shaping up to be the same.  I don’t know about you but I think I might make a trip to the French market.  I hear there will be live music out there on Saturday. I can’t wait. That is what I love about this city, there is always something going on.   Sorry to say Sunday will not be as nice according to the forecast.  We have a fifty percent chance of rain.  Boo! Have a wonderful Friday y’all!  I’ll see in NOLA!

Good Morning NOLA!  Happy Weekend!  It is A chilly Saturday morning out there.  But guess what?  It is going to be a bright  bright, sunshiny day! It will be perfect weather for my road trip to Baton Rouge today to watch my little cheerleader perform.   Most of us will still still need coats and jackets but you can leave your umbrella in the house or car.  No sign of rain until Monday and Tuesday when the forecast calls for a few showers. The lows tonight will drop back into the forties but will not be as cold as last night, but then back in the thirties for a few nights.  Have a great weekend!  I’ll see you in NOLA! Sharon Denise Talbot
